Elizabeth 'Betty' Goettl

Elizabeth "Betty" Ella Goettl, age 86, of Owatonna, went to be with the Lord February 13, 2018 at the Homestead Hospice House, surrounded by family.
Friends may greet the family 5-7:00 PM Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Brick Meger Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the funeral mass at church. Mass of Christian burial is set for 10:30 AM Saturday, February 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owatonna, with interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be a rosary recited at 7:00 PM on Friday at the Funeral Home.
Elizabeth was born November 19, 1931, to parents William and Anastasia (Hillesheim) Domeier, in New Ulm, MN.
She received her education at Holy Trinity Catholic School, in New Ulm, graduating in 1949.
Elizabeth was united in marriage to Lawrence "Larry" Goettl June 2, 1956, in New Ulm. Elizabeth and Lawrence resided in Mankato for a few years before settling in Owatonna in 1959. She provided in home day care and later was employed at Jostens and Truth Hardware. But her favorite job was being a mom and raising her six children. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a greeter and involved in a quilters sewing group. She also was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, and the Catholic Aid Association for over 50 years. Elizabeth's favorite pastimes were reading, sewing, gardening, embroidering, traveling, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Stacy (Rick) Wittrock, Owatonna, Cindy (Jeff) Peterson, Brainerd, MN, Nancy (Sean) Higgins, Naperville, IL, Judy (fiancé Fred Schneider) Petricka, Owatonna; two sons, Ricky (Nancy) Goettl, Brooklyn Park, MN, Jeffrey (Julie) Goettl, Stillwater, MN; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; sister, Anastasia Miller, Remer, MN; brothers, Thomas (Bonnie) Domeier, Grand Rapids, MI, Robert (Mary Ellen) Domeier, New Ulm; sisters-in-law, Delphine Domeier, New Ulm, Kathy Domeier, New Ulm.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by parents and one sister and 5 brothers. Elizabeth's family was the center of her life, blessed be her memory. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be directed to St. Mary's School, Owatonna, and the Owatonna Homestead Hospice House: Patient Care Fund.
