Carole Nordlie, 72, of Owatonna passed away December 16th, 2017 at the Homestead Hospice House. She was born April 4, 1945 in New Prague, MN to George Soukup and Florence (Andersen) Soukup.
Carole graduated from Owatonna High School in 1963. She married her high school sweetheart Gary Nordlie on December 23, 1967 in Owatonna. Carole attended Mankato State University for two years and went on to work as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Ronald Baker until his retirement. Carole then joined the staff at Southern Heights Dental Group in Faribault MN, where she remained until November 2017. Carole will always be remembered for her bright, friendly smile as she welcomed patients to the dental office.
Carole spent every summer for over thirty years with her husband Gary at their family cabin on Lake Vermilion. Though he didn't like to admit it, Carole could outfish Nord on any given day. She also enjoyed traveling, jig saw puzzles, reading, and spending precious time with her daughter and grandchildren, all of whom loved her to "infinity and beyond".
She is survived by her daughter LaRae (Bill Samuels); 3 grandchildren, Karter, Kailie, and Konner Kubista; brother Roger (Sharon) Soukup; sister-in-laws Lynda Virgin and Paula Soukup; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary, brother George Soukup, and her parents.
A Celebration of Carole's life will be held Saturday, December 23rd from 1-4 pm at Brick-Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna, MN.
