Betty L. Stoen of Claremont died Aug. 21, 2017 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial is set for Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Claremont. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 from 5:00 โ€“ 7:00 pm at Brick โ€“ Meger Funeral Home (1603 โ€“ Austin Road, Owatonna) and one hour before the funeral liturgy on Sat. There will be a parish rosary at 4:45 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
Betty was born on Sept. 17, 1930 in St. Anthony, Iowa the daughter of Clifford and Hazel (Roseburrough) Cochran. Betty attended high in Clemons, Iowa and graduated in 1949. She was united in marriage to Ralph Stoen on June 8, 1953 in Iowa. Betty was a homemaker and a farmwife for all of her life. Betty was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. Her hobbies include crocheting, gardening, baking. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her children Ronald Stoen of Claremont, MN, Roger (Joan) Stoen of Medford, Donna (Mike) Herda of Faribault, MN, Mary (Chad) Olson of Medford, Barbara (John) Kraling of Blooming Prairie, MN, Rodney (Robin) Stoen of Blooming Prairie, MN and Randy (Amy) Stoen of Claremont, MN; 23 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeanette Eggers of Laurel, IA, Robert Cochran of Lenox, IA, Catherine Klaas of Marshalltown, IA, Marth Youngman LaCaste, IA Virginia, Karns of State Center, IA. Betty is preceded in death by her Husband, Ralph; son, Rick; brother Johnny and Sister, Dorothy.
